Thorin in Treasure Room Sketch1

I was planning to do anything but art today. I'm also planning on starting an entirely different sketch Monday. So, of COURSE with my ever-growing In-Progress Pile, I just had to add to it.

This popped into my head today. Sketched in blue pencil on 11x14 drawing paper. Poor Thorin, frantically looking around Erebor's great treasure for the Arkenstone. Playing with shapes and angles (ignoring details and not really caring too much about anything except basic layout and flow because I'm lazy), trying to make sense of the maze that is Erebor. Honestly, I think drawing all that treasure would be easier than drawing all that architecture... oof. 

Hoping to get back to this soon and ink it. Just.... I need to stay focused and stop being so easily distracted!
